Chris Fackler-Lowery
Chris Fackler-Lowery works from her studio in the hills above Camas, Washington. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, she was surrounded by beautiful wooded landscapes which influenced her organic style. She recreates snippets of nature’s beauty through small sculpted scenes on her pottery. She then barrel fires each piece to achieve natural coloring and smoke effects on the surface of each pot. Recognizing that hand crafted art can bring so much more spirit to ones life, she continually works on her firing process, developing different techniques to use slips and resists to change how the smoke and fire affect the surface of each pot.
